Moorak Preschool offers 15 hours of preschool for students on Mondays, Tuesdays and alternate Wednesdays. These full day sessions run from 9:00am to 3:00pm.

Same First Day
All children in their eligible year of preschool will start in Term 1 of the school year.
- If your child is born before 1st May they will start preschool Term 1 of the year they turn 4.
- If your child is born on 1st May or after, they will begin preschool in Term 1 of the following year (i.e. the year they turn 5).
Pre-Entry
Currently children enrolled in the preschool are eligible for pre-entry sessions in the term before they start full-time preschool (Term 4).
More information regarding dates and session times will be sent to families prior to the start of Term 4.
We believe that it offers students an effective way to transition into the preschool program and familiarise themselves with staff and routines. Please note that pre-entry is an optional service, and may not be offered in the future.
Playgroup
Moorak Playgroup provides a welcoming and supportive introduction to our preschool and wider school community. Children and families develop their sense of belonging and become familiar with the preschool environment as children, parents and educators play alongside each other.
Our playgroup is run by educators who engage families and children in the playful learning process, and work together to create a fun, sociable and challenging environment for children from birth to school age and their families.
Playgroup runs on Friday mornings from 9:00am until 11:00am and is open to all children accompanied by a parent or guardian. The cost is $2.00 per family per week. Families are asked to bring a piece of fruit and a bottle of water for their child.
Playgroup has a closed Facebook group for current families. The Moorak Playgroup group advertises current events and sessions, and offers family additional information and support. Please request to join or contact one of our friendly educators for more information.

Several early childhood parenting resources are available to help your child learn and grow right from the start.
Learning with your child (GreatStart) gives parents everyday learning ideas and activities to help build their child’s maths and language skills.
Parenting SA has free parenting factsheets, videos and upcoming seminars on many parenting topics.
Positive Parenting program has free seminars, workshops and one-on-one sessions for parents of children aged 3 to 12 years.
Raising Children Network provides up-to-date, evidence-based, scientifically validated information about raising children and caring for yourself as a parent or carer.
Little Big Book Club supports parents to read, sing and play with their children from birth, with access to book recommendations, reading packs and resources.
Dad's Read offers advice for fathers to encourage reading together with their child.
